It is sad that even now Alfred despises Uhtred and no lands or wealth yet just food and shelter he is a pagan.

 Older oddas goddaughter is to marry Uhtred ,giving  him roots in Wessex married to a women of English blood but it is not as it seems he takes on debts he is not aware of .




The Kings wife scolds Brida and saids publicly to Uhtred you should have took the kings offer and married a lady while eating a meal together.

Young odda wanted Mildred for himself, but the Kings  word is over any man's wishes so King alfred arranges a marriage.

This arranged marriage , Uhtred to keep him on their side as Alfred's sword the Viking invasion has brought death and war and Alfred wants peace he knows the blood of men will only bring them to their victory.

Uhtred then see's Young Rhaegnar, again but he loses Brida she knows she has not place there she loses the child after she drinks mushroom ale trying to see a vision of what's to come for Uhtred and for herself.

Brida  loses a child she would have had for Uhtred and tells him she knows he will not follow her out of Wessex.



  Brida later  digs for the wealth of Rhagner and she  sees him and she tells Uhtred they will meet- Young Rhaegar at dusk and Uhtred tells Brida he has pledged his sword to alfred for a years service. 



Rhaegar, asked Uhtred if he killed his father and Uhtred throws his sword and say's '' If you believe i called our father kill me now''

Rhaegnar leaves with Brida,  and Uhtred kisses her goodbye she seems upset but Brida was not happy in Wessex even though she is a Saxxon raised as a dane after the war in Bebbanburg like Uhtred she become a slave of the danes who invaded England.
